Why We Micro Give?
As children, our team grew up with charity sponsored activities like Scouts, Youth Camps, and Church Organizations. We went to animal shelters to find our first puppies, donated the clothes we’d outgrown to shelters, and collected can goods for the local food bank.
As adults, we’ve supported charities with time, treasure, and talent. After thousands of cookie sales, crab feeds, golf tournaments, and dinner auctions – we wanted to find a high-tech “better way” to promote giving.
We found it and we built it. We Micro Give delivers a new way for charities to generate consistent revenue and for donors to more easily manage their giving. Through an online portal, donors automate giving with “round ups” (spare change from their financial transactions) and charities are provided tools to create consistent revenue streams.
Charity auctions and crab feeds need be there, the community building is great, and the funding is vital. At We Micro Give, our goal is provide a cushion with annuity donations and to relieve the dependency on these events. Our goal is a “better way” to help charities achieve their goals – whether it’s a meal in a shelter or a puppy to family.
Greg Mathews – CEO
Greg is a pioneer in Software as a Service (SaaS) applications and has a rich history in working with charities. It’s this combination of a technical background with a desire to help charities that was the catalyst for We Micro Give. Recently, Greg has worked for Cisco Systems with roles in Sales, Channel Development, Marketing, Product Management, and Mergers and Acquisitions Teams. He’s been involved with founding multiple startups, most notably Visio. He’s also the founder of an early stage venture backed SaaS company – QuickMarketing. Greg’s an avid snow boarder, sailor, and outdoorsman. His wife Kathryn is a Program Director for a charity and was the inspiration for We Micro Give.
Ron Richardson – CTO
Ron is uniquely qualified to lead the technology development efforts at We Micro Give. Our user interfaces are crucial to our success and in leading his own web development company he has honed his skills to deliver an optimal user experience. At early stage companies, Ron has been involved in defining technology while driving their structure for growth. He’s been involved with technical implementation and large scale project management with companies like Flextronics and Sun Microsystems and mentored startup companies like Ironsides and Ultracell. Ron is an avid golfer and enjoys hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area.
Steve Schiro – Steve has 30+ years’ experience in the Software Industry, the last 18 years with Microsoft in senior executive level roles in sales, marketing, operations, and with his previous role as Vice President – Worldwide Retail Segment Business Management. Steve has now applied his multi-national organization experience to create the Purpose to Impact Leadership Academy. Steve serves on several Advisory Boards and has chaired a variety of strategic planning roles and committees.
Dan Vetras – CEO of Kollective is actively involved in understanding the needs of his global customer base, building a world-class team, and driving an agile and innovative culture. With 30 years of successful experience in business and technology leadership including three previous CEO stints at Visible Technologies, Talisma, and Captura as well as Executive Sales positions at IBM and Lotus.
Chris Hendricks – Vice President, Products, Marketing and Innovation with The McClatchy Company. Chris spent time as Manager of Technology and was then promoted to President and Publisher of Nando Media (renamed McClatchy Interactive), McClatchy’s digital publishing hub. Hendricks has served on various industry related boards and committees and currently serves on the boards of CareerBuilder, Moonlighting, Engage3, Topix, and The Local Media Consortium.
Don Klienfelder – Executive Director Child Advocates of Placer County – CAPC’s mission is to be the bridge between the most vulnerable in our community and volunteers who make a difference. Child Advocates supports over 300 volunteers and manages 5 county wide programs in Northern California.
Lisa Peet – Founder & Executive Director Taylor House – The Mission of THE TAYLOR HOUSE is to help transition aged former foster youth and at risk homeless youth by offering affordable rents, teaching life skills, setting career and education goals, and offering assistance in navigating life.
